Doctrinal Statement
The Preterist Theological Society encourages many forms of Preterism that can affirm the three doctrinal statements below. We realize that there are a wide variety of particular interests that involve different theological arrangements. We all affirm the same framework within which these various arrangements below are assigned. All prospective full, retiree, and student members shall sign a statement of the doctrinal basis for the PTS, to wit, they affirm:
1. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NASB)
2. There is one God, and one Lord, and Jesus was sent by Him, being equal in every way with the Father, to bring life to His people. (Mark 12:29, John 5:18ff, James 2:19, NASB)
3. The destruction and judgment of Jerusalem and National Israel in the first century was the fulfillment and culmination of all prophetic writings in Scripture with regard to the resurrection, the judgment, and the coming of the Lord, which all took place during the generation and lifetime of the people then living during the life of Jesus and His Apostles. (Matthew 12:41-42, 16:38, 23:36, 24:34, Luke 9:27, 11:29-32, 50-51, 21:32)
